Learn about wine
A cracking way to start learning about wine. Founded in 1969 the Wine and Spirit Education Trust specialises in courses for enthusiasts in more than 40 countries. The one-day foundation course is brilliant and you can graduate to the three-day intermediate course and then the diploma courses. These are held throughout Britain.

Independent merchant
This is a small independent wine dealer in the South East (Cotswolds, London, Norfolk and Hampshire) with an incredibly knowledgeable emphasis on Burgundy.

London Restaurant Festival
Four years ago my friend and business partner Fay Maschler and I came up with the idea to create the first ever London Restaurant Festival. We wanted it to grow and become a culinary equivalent of the Edinburgh Festival with events of all sizes and for all budgets going on across London. This year will be its fourth year and it’s getting bigger and better every year.

Wine tours
Arblaster & Clark are the best for wine holidays all over the world. Incredibly extensive, well organised and, crucially, they have access to places you can’t find elsewhere.

The Tower of Hallbar
The historic Tower of Hallbar was featured in the Craufurdland episode. A sixteenth century defensive tower in the beautiful Clyde Valley, it's a great family holiday destination, owned by the Vivat Trust.

A great restaurant in Venice
Some of my friends had the most fantastic 40th birthday in Venice recently, and I took the opportunity to brush up on my Venice restaurants. My favourite was this one, Antiche Carampane.

Food magazine
I am often asked what we get up to when not filming Country House Rescue. You can see some of my company's work here - at the moment we're particularly proud of the London Evening Standard Food Magazine.

The Rosebery
I always loved Routemaster buses as a boy. Last year I managed to find a very rare 1966 version, and have almost completed renovating it and converting it into a cocktail bar and dining area. Check out the film on the website.

Elizabeth Street Shops
My office in London is on Elizabeth St, which has undergone an inspired transformation in recent years thanks to Grosvenor. Tom Tom is worth noting - they have an excellent coffee shop and a cigar shop.

The easy way to buy wine
I have always had a passion for wine; both drinking it and educating myself along the way. Buying wine needn’t be daunting - check out Slurp. It’s a revelation and an education, with some fantastic deals.
